It is currently 28 degrees at the summit with variable winds of 5-10 miles per hour and blowing snow out of the south. With runs on Radar and Lakeside this morning complete, the conditions are variable and classic springtime in texture, hold, and weight. Expect heavier, wet, wind-blown coverage at the summit and warmer, softer sugar conditions as you descend towards mid-mountain. Visibility is consistent, the light is flat so keep those clear lenses on and start your day with layers. Our crew is sweeping seats, adjusting pads, and visible on the mountain so obey all rope lines, signage, and markings on the slopes.

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Saturday, March 21st. It is currently 35 degrees with winds of 5-10 miles per hour out of the west and visibility is at 100 yards. Groomers are reporting no new snow and a settled base of 35 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, and Olympic lifts in operation.
Conditions this morning are a little moist and currently socked in. We are skiing on the top half of the mountain today, Thunderhead skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.
Blacktail Mountain has a new RFID system as of last week, pick up your new card at the ticket office today. I’ll see you on slopes!
Daily Details
- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm. Crystal lift is scheduled to operate from 9 AM to 3 pm
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Tickets today are $65 for Adults (25-69), $55 for Young Adults (18-24), $50 for Teens (13-17), $40 for Children (8-12), $40 for Seniors (70+), and $10 Season Pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
