It is currently 25 degrees with variable winds at the summit of 5-15 miles per hour, with unlimited visibility under overcast skies. Drop below the summit and the winds subside, where visibility and temperatures will be moderated. We have opened Crystal chair terrain today, and there is untracked powder across the open runs over a groomed base. Snow depths range between surface to boot top deep, with a heavy moisture content. The terrain has visible and unmarked hazards, and recommended for advanced intermediate to expert skiers based on the conditions. Please observe all marked trail closures, hazards, and Patrol updates throughout the day. Consider leashes and skiing with others, and observe the Skier’s Code while on the mountain.
Off of the Thunderhead and Olympic chairs, we have groomed overnight and the snow is consistently carving, with packed powder and some accumulations off-piste. Please watch for updates to today’s conditions, and enjoy a beautiful day on the mountain!

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Sunday, February 22nd. It is currently 23 degrees with winds of 10-15 miles per hour out of the west-southwest and visibility is unlimited. Groomers are reporting no new snow and a settled base of 35 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, Crystal, and Olympic lifts in operation.
Crystal Country is open today! With the new snow we’ve had this past week, we are opening Crystal with ungroomed terrain. This area is recommended for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders, expect thin cover at the bottom. We continue to ski on the top half of the Thunderhead side, skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety. We continue to assess the lower mountain daily.
It’s looking like another beautiful day to make some turns on the mountain.

- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time and money by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Tickets today are $75 for Adults (25-69), $65 for Young Adults (18-24), $60 for Teens (13-17), $50 for Children (8-12), $40 for Seniors (70+), and $10 Season Pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders.
- Save $10 when you purchase online and in advance.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
