It is currently 16 degrees with variable light winds out of the south at 2-4 miles per hour, with visibility improving at the summit and clearing at lower elevations. We have experienced a storm track of cold, fresh powder that is tapering off in accumulations this morning, but overnight provided us with epic conditions to kick off the weekend. Powder leashes are a good idea today, with boot-high pockets in the open bowls and glades, and soft, blower powder on top of an extensive list of groomed runs across the mountain.
We are 100% open to the base on all lifts today with the bottom half of Thunderhead runs stacked with fresh powder. Enjoy, this is a great day to be at Blacktail!

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Saturday, March 14th. It is currently 22 degrees with winds of 0-5 miles per hour and visibility is at 500 yards due to continuing snowfall. Groomers are reporting 5 inches of new snow overnight and 9 inches in the last 24 hours with a settled base of 43 inches. We will be sliding today on POWDER, packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, Crystal and Olympic lifts in operation.
Blacktail is 100% open today! The bottom half of Thunderhead is primarily ungroomed this morning, it should be an epic Saturday on the slopes.
Blacktail has changed RFID systems, please pick up your new RFID cards in the lobby today. Today is our annual passholder BBQ. We’ll be serving up chili dogs to our passholders at the bottom of Olympic today starting at 11:30.

Daily Details
- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm. Crystal lift is scheduled to operate from 9 AM to 3 pm
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Tickets today are $65 for Adults (25-69), $55 for Young Adults (18-24), $50 for Teens (13-17), $40 for Children (8-12), $40 for Seniors (70+), and $10 Season Pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
