We’re excited to announce that opening day for the 2025/26 season will be Wednesday, December 24th, with lifts spinning from 9 AM to 2 PM. This day will mark the start of seven-day-a-week operations, continuing through Sunday, January 4th. Please note that on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25th, the ski area will have a late start, with lifts spinning from 11 AM to 4 PM. On all other operating days during this period, lifts will spin from 9 AM to 4 PM.
The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair to the midway station are scheduled for operation. The Magic Carpet, Crystal Chair and additional terrain will open as conditions permit.
Early season conditions exist. Be aware of your surroundings, proceed cautiously, and respect all rope lines and trail closures as they are there for your safety.
Snow is expected throughout the holiday week. Current forecasts for Wednesday call for mostly cloudy skies, 60% chance of snow, and a high near 32 degrees.
Season Passes and daily lift tickets are available to purchase online at estore.blacktailmountain.com. We encourage everyone to save money and time at the ticket office by creating an account, purchasing RFID cards and day lift tickets or passes in advance online.

Opening Day Details:
- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair to the midway station are scheduled for operation from 9 am to 2 pm on Wednesday
- Ticket prices are $75 for Adults (25-69), $65 for Young Adults (18-24), $55 for Teens (13-17), $50 for Children (8-12), $10 Season pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders, and $40 for Seniors (70+).
- Save $10 when you purchase online and in advance.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 AM – 3 PM, the Grill 10:30 AM – 2 PM, Mighty Bites Cafeteria & Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 AM – 2 PM.
- The rental shop will be open from 8 AM – 3 PM.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9 AM – 3 PM.
- Snowsports Lessons will be available on a limited basis. Please check in at the Ticket Office on the mountain prior to 9:15 AM each day to sign up for a lesson.
