It is currently 21 degrees at the summit with variable light winds out of the South South West at 2-5 miles per hour. It is snowing at the summit and lightens up in intensity 300 feet below the summit. The refresh is setting up a fresh layer over a well-groomed base across the mountain, smoothing out turns and giving the upper half of the mountain a confident feel right from the first chair.
The short-term forecast is calling for intermittent snowfall today ending overnight.
With fresh snow over corduroy and dynamic visibility on the upper half of the mountain, it’s a great day to cruise, explore, and stack some fast laps. Reporter’s choice this morning is Damnation and off-piste runs off Thunderhead.

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Sunday, February 15th. It is currently 22 degrees with winds of 0-5 miles per hour and visibility is variable up to 500 yards. Groomers are reporting no new snow since our last report and a settled base of 26 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, and Olympic lifts in operation.
We continue to ski on the top half of the mountain, Thunderhead skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.
Blacktail is open through Monday for Presidents Day this week and our annual Patrol fundraiser will take place tomorrow! Get some extra turns in this long weekend with family and friends.

- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time and money by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Tickets today are $75 for Adults (25-69), $65 for Young Adults (18-24), $60 for Teens (13-17), $50 for Children (8-12), $40 for Seniors (70+), and $10 Season Pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders.
- Save $10 when you purchase online and in advance.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
