It is currently 32 degrees with wind out of the south between 11-15 miles per hour at the summit. We are underway but continue the Olympic wind hold and will continue to assess and update as conditions allow. Snow conditions are firm and fast over a groomed base of packed powder, with softer conditions found on tree-lined runs, reporter’s choice are Meadow and Snowblower. The wind subsides below the summit and visibility remains good across the mountain. The Magic Carpet is open, Thunderhead is open to mid-station.

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Sunday, March 8th. It is currently 38 degrees with winds of 10-15 miles per hour with some stronger gusts and visibility is unlimited. Groomers are reporting no new snow and a settled base of 32 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, and Olympic lifts in operation.
We are skiing on the top half of the mountain today, Thunderhead skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.
Today is our annual Seuss Scavenger hunt! Clues will begin on the second floor of the lodge this morning, dress in your Seussical best and come join in the fun!

- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm. Crystal lift is scheduled to operate from 9 AM to 3 pm
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time and money by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Tickets today are $75 for Adults (25-69), $65 for Young Adults (18-24), $60 for Teens (13-17), $50 for Children (8-12), $40 for Seniors (70+), and $10 Season Pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders.
- Save $10 when you purchase online and in advance.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
