It is currently 28 degrees at the summit and a changing weather pattern has brought returning snowfall to the mountain, impacting visibility at the top and improving as the temperature variance in the lower elevations changes. Expect variable light and snow conditions as this pattern develops.
12:00 PM Conditions Update | Derek Young
It is currently 28 degrees at the summit with light winds of 1-3 miles per hour out of the south. Visibility has improved below the summit and with it the light conditions. The snow has ceased and as the day progresses, the forecast is calling for slight clearing but consistent temperatures in the upper 20’s. Snow conditions are holding up, perfect timing to come up for a half-day!

It is currently 27 degrees at the summit with light winds of 2-4 miles per hour from the south, and visibility of 200 yards. The new overnight snow accumulations are showing up in the glades and within the first 500 feet of the summit, and it is currently lightly snowing down to Mid-Thunderhead loading station. You’ll find a wind-blown layer of snow off-piste and firmer conditions lower on the mountain. Our groomers have crafted a fine group of runs this morning, and they are buttery smooth over a packed base with light dusting that’s filling in. Reporter’s choice this morning are Badrock and Radar. Check your speed at trail convergences and around lift loading stations, the low light will improve as the day progresses. Clear lenses, know the code, enjoy your day!

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Thursday, March 5th. It is currently 29 degrees with winds of 10-15 miles per hour out of the west, and visibility is at 200 yards. Groomers are reporting 3 inches of new snow since our last report and a settled base of 32 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, and Olympic lifts in operation.
We are skiing on the top half of the mountain today. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.
It’s Thrifty Thursday today, ski all day for just $39 when you purchase your lift tickets ONLINE.

- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.

- Ticket prices are just $39 on Wednesdays and Thursdays when you purchase them ONLINE.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
