Good Morning Snow Riders,
This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for January 1st, 2026. Happy New Year! It is currently 32 degrees with light winds of 0-5 miles per hour and visibility is unlimited. Groomers are reporting no new snow and a settled base of 24 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Olympic, and Thunderhead lifts in operation.
We continue to ski on the top half of the mountain today, Thunderhead skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Crystal Country and additional terrain will open as soon as conditions permit. Early season conditions exist, please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.
Thrifty Thursday starts today, ski all day for just $39! Join us today and slide into the new year with family, friends, and some good turns. Blacktail is open seven days a week now through January 4th for the holiday.

Daily Details
- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time and money by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Ticket prices are are $39 on Thursdays when you purchase them ONLINE
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
