We are excited to announce that the opening day of the 2024/25 season will be Friday, December 13th. We will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am-4pm each day. The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair to the midway station, and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation. The Crystal Chair and additional terrain will open as conditions permit.
Early season conditions exist. Be aware of your surroundings, proceed cautiously, and respect all rope lines and trail closures as they are there for your safety.
We will be closed Monday, December 16th, until Friday, December 20th. Lifts will spin starting Friday, and will run from 9am-4pm each day through to Monday, January 6th.
Snow is expected all day Sunday, with a continued chance of snow the latter half of the week. Current forecasts for Friday call for partly cloudy skies, 20% chance of snow, and a high near 26 degrees.
Season Passes and daily lift tickets are available to purchase online at estore.blacktailmountain.com. We encourage everyone to save money and time at the ticket office by creating an account, purchasing RFID cards and day lift tickets or passes in advance online.

Opening Weekend Details
- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair to the midway station and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.
- Friday ticket prices are $65 for Adults (25-69), $55 for Young Adults (18-24), $50 for Teens (13-17), $40 for Children (8-12), free* for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders, and $35 for Seniors (70+).
Saturday & Sunday ticket prices are $70 for Adults (25-69), $60 for Young Adults (18-24), $55 for Teens (13-17), $45 for Children (8-12), free for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders, and $35 for Seniors (70+)
- Save $10 when you purchase online and in advance.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30am – 5pm, the Grill 10:30am – 4pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria & Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8am – 4pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8am – 4pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9am – 5pm.
- Snowsports Lessons will be available on a limited basis. Please check in at the Ticket Office on the mountain prior to 9:15am each day to sign up for a lesson.
