We’re underway with a noticeable improvement in the weather, and it’s shaping up to be a comfortable, enjoyable one on the mountain. Skies are beginning to clear, and visibility will continue to improve as the day goes on. It’s currently 30 degrees with light winds from the SSE at 5 miles per hour. Visibility is improving at the top of the mountain, and clears as you go.
Groomed runs are skiing firm and fast this morning — smooth, confidence-boosting corduroy that’s perfect for clean turns and easy cruising. Reporter’s choice today is Lakeside, a fine corduroy groom awaits you!
As the clouds lift today, sight lines will open up and the mountain really starts to shine and we’ll get back to our stunning views of Flathead Lake today!

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Saturday, January 31st. It is currently 32 degrees with winds of 10-15 miles per hour out of the west-north-west and visibility at 500 yards. Groomers are reporting a skiff of new snow in the last 24 hours and a settled base of 25 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, and Olympic lifts in operation.
We continue to ski on the top half of the mountain, Thunderhead skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.
The snow we’ve gotten throughout the week has been lovely, our groomers continue to do a fantastic job out there.

Daily Details
- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time and money by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Tickets today are $75 for Adults (25-69), $65 for Young Adults (18-24), $60 for Teens (13-17), $50 for Children (8-12), $40 for Seniors (70+), and $10 Season Pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders.
- Save $10 when you purchase online and in advance.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
