It is currently 47 degrees at the summit with light winds out of the North North West at 4 miles per hour. Visibility is unlimited and we are skiing under blue bird skies today. The groomed runs off Thunderhead that are still in the shade are firm and fast all the way to mid-mountain. As the sun hits this side of the mountain later this morning, expect softening and forgiving snow conditions that will have you thinking it’s springtime. Olympic runs are fun in the softer snow in the afternoon. We’ve seen more skiers in the glades lately, and the off-piste snow in the afternoon is holding up. Layer up today so you can shed coverage as the day warms up, and keep your sunscreen handy, it’s a perfect way to spend Thursday on the mountain with family and friends!

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Thursday, February 5th. It is currently 39 degrees with winds of 5-10 miles per hour out of the west and visibility is unlimited. Groomers are reporting no new snow and a settled base of 24 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, and Olympic lifts in operation.
We continue to ski on the top half of the mountain, Thunderhead skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.

- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.

- Ticket prices are are $39 today when you purchase them ONLINE
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
