It is currently 28 degrees with variable winds out of the south peaking between 6-7 miles per hour and unlimited visibility. The light dusting we received overnight over a well-groomed base has improved conditions and you’ll find pockets of wind-blown snow accumulating along the edges of north facing runs off of Thunderhead. That’s slowed down the faster conditions we’ve seen over the week and a welcome change. Enjoy some fresh off-piste turns this morning and cruise the blues through the afternoon. Reporters choice this morning are Badrock and Radar.
The long-range forecast is calling for continued cool temps and snow over the next week, so we expect to see more consistent surface conditions, but there are some softer spots now around loading stations and the trail junctions so check your speed as you approach the posted merge signage.

This is Jessi with your Blacktail Mountain Report for Sunday, February 8th. It is currently 30 degrees with winds of 0-5 miles per hour out of the west and visibility is at 500 yards due to continuing snowfall. Groomers are reporting a skiff of new snow and a settled base of 23 inches. We will be sliding today on packed powder and machine groomed runs with the Magic Carpet, Thunderhead, and Olympic lifts in operation.
We continue to ski on the top half of the mountain, Thunderhead skiers and riders will load at the midway station. Please obey all ropelines and closures they are in place for your safety.
If you don’t have plans next Saturday, check out our Valentines Day Dinner & Sunset Laps, it’s going to be a beautiful meal on the mountain.

- The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and the Magic Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.
- Daily lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase ONLINE. Save time and money by creating your account and making purchases on our e-store.
- Tickets today are $75 for Adults (25-69), $65 for Young Adults (18-24), $60 for Teens (13-17), $50 for Children (8-12), $40 for Seniors (70+), and $10 Season Pass for Tiny Tots (7 & under) and 5th Graders.
- Save $10 when you purchase online and in advance.
- Muley’s Bar will be open 10:30 am-5 pm, the Grill 10:30-4 pm, Mighty Bites Cafeteria and Blacktail Bean (located in the cafeteria) will be open 8 am-4 pm.
- The rental shop will be open from 8:30 am-4 pm.
- The Blacktail Trading Co. retail shop will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm.
- Snow Sports Lessons are available at the window 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson and there is availability online for future dates.
