The day we have all been waiting for is almost here! We are excited to announce that we are planning to open the mountain with limited terrain this Sunday, January 14th, and Monday (MLK Day), January 15th, from 9am-4pm each day. The Olympic Chair, and the Thunderhead Chair to midway are scheduled for operation, weather and conditions permitting. The lower half of Thunderhead Chair, the Crystal Chair, the Magic Carpet conveyor lift, and additional terrain will open as conditions permit.
Early season conditions exist. Expect to see thin coverage and obstacles. The most challenging terrain to navigate will be crossover roads. Please be aware of your surroundings, proceed cautiously, and respect all rope lines and trail closures as they are there for your safety
We will be closed Tuesday the 16th and will reopen from 9am-4pm on Wednesday, January 17th, through Sunday, January 21st. We will then continue with Wednesday through Sunday operations until Presidents Day, February 19th.
Current forecasts for Sunday call for partly sunny skies and cold, with a high near -2. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Be sure to bundle up, and cover all exposed skin.
Season Passes and daily lift tickets are available to purchase online at estore.blacktailmountain.com. We encourage everyone to save money and time at the ticket office by creating an account, purchasing RFID cards and day lift tickets or passes in advance online.

- The rental shop will be open from 8am-4pm
- Snowsports Lessons will be available on a limited basis
